Israel is not the only place where strains containing <1 THC and rich levels of CBD are being grown. Although not quite yet ready for any formal announcements, several growers in the state with support from a small number of collectives in fact have at least one proven strain with a greater than 20:1 CBD:THC ratio. Despite ridiculous claims that these plants are GMO or some governmental plot, the truth is very simple and I have witnessed each step and testing with my own hands and eyes.
These strains still exist, although very rare in nature. If one is to obtain hundreds of seeds that are known to be rich CBD producers, a tiny %, very tiny, number of these female plants will show this very strong although recessive genetic trait.
This takes years of trial and error and a thorough commitment to finding the needle in the haystack. Hundreds of years ago, these plants were most likely much more abundant in nature. Over many years cannabis has been grown for his psychoactive properties. By default, any plant with any significant CBD had little to no psychoactive trails and were not propagated…leading to the needle in a haystack.
So, these are NOT GMO. No conspiracy here at all. The real issue of control and hypocrisy is that our government patented to manufacture of CBD and many, many other cannabinoids and cannabinoid atomic structure. The government is helping the world make synthetic CBD while claiming that cannabis is still schedule I and worth incarcerating tens of thousands of citizens.
Maybe the ultimate plan for world governments is to allow non-psychoactive strains and extracts but continue to fight against typical “pot”.
As a physician working with CBD for some years, I say hurrah. As a social cannabis user, I am excited as I believe this will lead us one step closer to ultimate legalization.
