I have been itching to write this post for so long. There is now an available strain, Seabdx (read: C-B-Dx), grown by the sea and CBD rich. From the first time this strain and leaves were tested, it has shown a 25:1 CBD:THC ratio.
As dosed cannabis medicine is already on the scene and available, having a dosed version of Seabdx was clearly the path to take. It has produced an extract that is: 7.2 mg CBD/ml and 0.35 mg THC/ml. Although most patients probably don’t need such an extremely low dose of THC, for many this strain and extract is proving to be really awesome. The MS patient I wrote about in my last blog is a great example of some things I have recently been witness to.
For anxiety and insomnia, a number of patients are using a single “spray” which equals 1 mg of “whole plant” CBD, or WP-CBD.
For moderate and severe pain more WP-CBD is often needed and this is being accomplished more and more by having the patients spray the Seabdx into a couple of oz of juice or water and then drinking it. This forces the CBD to a first-pass through the liver and hence hydroxylation. This hydroxylation, as with THC, increases the CBD effect by around five-fold. For certain, it seems to give the patients at least 24 hours of relief.
As the Seabdx and other rich CBD extracts are now in Miron glass, the sprays are closely dosed and are 1 mg whole plant CBD in each spray. This allows patients a very easy way to dose their oral CBD by spraying the number of milligrams needed into their water or juice. Again, this is a once daily treatment – at least as of today.
Much more to come.
