Cannabis fights MRSA

So, what is MRSA? It is an increasingly common and at times life threatening staph infection that is resistant to most if not all antibiotics. The most common presentation of MRSA infections are with dermatological infections.

For many, many patients this infection ruins their lives. For others it is an expensive and uncomfortable skin infection that just never goes away.

These guys, studied using various cannabinoids, including THC, CBD and CBN, for their anti-bacterial function. It turns out they have terrific staphylococcus killing power. The cannabinoids work in an unknown manner, but I am certain many more studies will be done.

I recently had a patient who started using a cannabis topical solution for her severe MRSA infection. She has had nearly complete remission.

Hey Allan, I am a patient with MRSA

I used the recipe I found here: http://www.wamm.org/howtouse.htm

I used ground, vaporized marijuana and vodka.

Once it was ready, I strained out the bud and put the tincture into a spray bottle that I got at CVS in the cosmetics/travel section. I started out by spritzing the areas on my body where staph tends to live, like my crotch, between my toes, and my armpits. I also sprayed the areas that were specifically affected (most often, I would get the infected hair follicles on my legs). Pretty much immediately, my symptoms went away, and I was very quickly able to reduce the use of the tincture down to about once every two weeks (basically, whenever a new infection would appear). Now I use it once a month.

My MRSA outbreaks are very much tied to my stress level, which affects my eczema. So by addressing my stress, keeping my eczema under control, and using the tincture as a rescue remedy when an infection appears, I am able to keep my MRSA at bay.
