When HIV was first pinned down in 1979-80, for many years the diagnosis was nearly always a death sentence.
This is also true for TB, Diabetes, Coronary Disease and many other ailments. Most people used to die from these illnesses and now they are able to “manage” their illness.
“Cures”, can only be discussed honestly 5-10 years from now. That is the standard we use for all other cancer treatment, we should apply the same here; no more, no less. So, we just cannot talk about CURE – at least at this point in time.
Many of us have personally witnessed remarkable cancer responses to cannabinoid therapy, particularly regimens including CBD. I have seen scans of cancers disappearing over several months. I have also seen tumor size remaining stable while the patient is getting better. By this I don’t just mean by improving how they feel with eating and energy, I mean return of neurological function and other dramatic changes; they are managing their cancers.
Perhaps we are all now witnessing a great breakthrough with regard to management of cancer. Perhaps in some cases or perhaps in many cases, they will ultimately be cures, but I think any patient with cancer would be quite happy to have their lives just manageable and lengthy.
Finally, I think this might be a good way to present cannabinoid therapy to cancer patients. It will surely help them deal with scans or lab tests that jump up and drop back down. It will help with some of the uncertainty and fear. As long as the patient is feeling well and tumor is no longer growing, it is not a failure by any means; the patient is better and the patient is alive.
