It has been known for a number of years that CBD helps promote bone growth.

There are two major cell types involved with both growth, destruction and “re-modeling” of bone. As we go through life our bones are subjected to new and changing stresses. New bone is always taking place and bone destruction or resorption is always taking place.

Osteoblasts, create new bone and Osteoclasts resorb and help to remodel bone as stresses change.

It is the balance of these two processes that determine if we get more bone laid down or we lose more bone. With aging, hormonal and other changes, in general bone density drops with age. We all know plenty of elderly people with hip or other fractures from very minimal stress. In fact, most hip fractures occur BEFORE the person hits the ground. There is a “Torque” pressure that initially causes the fracture and then the fall takes place. The point being, the patient’s bone strength is extremely brittle.

Additional Information

So, in a new article, new data shows improved bone growth and fracture healing with CBD. There is also a review article, that is a good read and also goes into treatment of osteoporosis.

As CBD is harmless, here is one more great use of CBD for prevention of bone loss and help in restoring stronger bone after a fracture.

Allan Frankel, MD Dr Allan Frankel is one of the few physicians in the US who truly understands Cannabis as a medicine. All treatments suggested have been well studied. Every patient seen by Dr Frankel is given a personally created Treatment Plan created with the patient's specific issues defined. Plant medicine requires "tuning" of the dosing. Dr Frankel works with his patients thru a messaging portal. The use of this portal, allows quick and simple follow up contact with Dr Frankel. Patients are not charged for these messages, as this is how Dr Frankel has learned what he has learned. Follow up appointments in person or by phone/video are also available when needed

Cannabis May Prevent COVID-19 Infections

Early studies in both Israel and Canada show findings consistent with CBD's effect on COVID-19's ability to take hold in the lungs or the gastrointestinal tract. If the receptors are reduced, the viral infection and pulmonary toxicity should be reduced.
