I was very please to find the following article on dosing cannabis. This article contends that until there is reasonable and accurate dosing available for cannabis, that it will never be completely accepted.
I COULD NOT AGREE MORE.
One side note, before I go on, every patient at GreenBridge is given dosing information to the mg. We adjust it all the time at follow up visits and follow up phone calls. We adjust doses of cannabinoids and now even Terpenes for individualized dosing.
If neither the patient, the collective nor the physician have a clue as to what the patient is taking, there is of course no hope for dosing or dosage adjustment. It is true that 15% or so of the population that uses smoked cannabis, dose by puffing and re-evaluating how many more puffs to take. Edibles are generally entirely un-dosable as it is rare for accurate dosing by the mg.
Another point to make is that it appears that the mainstream is beginning to demand dosing. Many physicians have had fears of dosing as this might be tantamount to writing a prescription for cannabis. Of course this is not a prescription. A prescription is a set of orders to a pharmacy. The pharmacy supplies and gives instructions to the patient. I cannot give any direct order or prescription to a collective as they interact only with the patient – at least for now.
With dosing becoming something demanded by the mainstream, physicians should feel comfortable learning dosing and educating their patients. There should be no fear of Federal reprisals for aiding and abetting just for dosing.
Let The Dosing Begin!!
