Many of us have witnessed over recent months the new “medical cannabis” medications which are supposedly hemp based. (See http://www.dixiex.com) Assuming that these claims are correct, for some reason all of a sudden companies are selling online CBD capsules just like ordering Viagra online. I can’t get a clear answer as to the legality of this, but for the moment let’s join the fantasy and assume that a CBD rich hemp extract, with a little tiny THC is now legal. CBD, as I recently checked, is now OFF Schedule I. I couldn’t find it on any schedules so if any of you know more, please share.
So, assuming selling very low THC products is legal, who are these products best for?
1. Anxiety and Seizure Disorders are the two primary groups of conditions, at least in my opinion, where a product like this might be good. These groups of patients are generally way better off staying away from THC.
2. Pretty much all other patients need THC and Terpenes.
IF these products are in fact hemp based, their Terpene and Flavanoid content must be very low. Hemp does smell a tad like “cannabis”, but way, way weaker. We are trying to get testing done on female hemp flowers, but it is so illegal here we can’t get it.
So, although the hemp products will be good for a number of people, losing out on THC and the majority of the terpenes and other precious molecules will ultimately greatly limit the potential of these products.
