As we all fully realize, the current and various Medical and Recreational stores throughout the West and Colorado are in no way differentiated. In other words, Medical is through one door and Recreational through another; No real differences.

Due in part to this, but probably more swayed by taxation on Recreational and Pharmaceutical fears about medical, Medical Cannabis is beginning to disappear in both Washington and Colorado.

Assuming the destruction of Medical goes through, the entire scene will be Recreational. If a similar law passes in California, we should assume the same will happen to Medical Cannabis. More and more Medical Board restrictions will come down as in the other states and ultimately, to practicing full time Medial Cannabis will be over.

The “Doc in the Boxes” will certainly be gone once Medical is gone – and I think we should assume this will happen.

How will I practice under this set of circumstances. I will be a “retail” guy in the Recreational sector. I would be a 1940’s formulating expert. I might work in a collective and have the exact same office I currently have, but I will not be called Dr. Frankel… would be Doc Frankel, or just Allan. It does not matter. People want information. They crave medical knowledge and integration with their other medical care. It is only doctors who understand the other issues at this level of care and people will demand it; crave it.

So, what should we do? We need to each look at what we offer to patients. If we offer nothing other than some very general information and “access”, we must look 2-3 years down the road. If we offer something that nobody else can offer, many doctors will opt out of medicine and practice “Herbal Medicine” and dictate the future of Medical Cannabis.

So, an interesting circle. We will have gone from Doctors giving out papers for “Recreational Cannabis” in a Medical system to a situation where some of those doctors have had to give up practicing medicine in order to educate and create Treatment Plans in Adult Recreational Stores.

Allan Frankel, MD Dr Allan Frankel is one of the few physicians in the US who truly understands Cannabis as a medicine. All treatments suggested have been well studied. Every patient seen by Dr Frankel is given a personally created Treatment Plan created with the patient's specific issues defined. Plant medicine requires "tuning" of the dosing. Dr Frankel works with his patients thru a messaging portal. The use of this portal, allows quick and simple follow up contact with Dr Frankel. Patients are not charged for these messages, as this is how Dr Frankel has learned what he has learned. Follow up appointments in person or by phone/video are also available when needed

Cannabis May Prevent COVID-19 Infections

Early studies in both Israel and Canada show findings consistent with CBD's effect on COVID-19's ability to take hold in the lungs or the gastrointestinal tract. If the receptors are reduced, the viral infection and pulmonary toxicity should be reduced.
