I get the feeling most days that our vision of future cannabinoid medicine is a bit limited.
We speak about “Charlotte’s Web” is the last CBD strain on earth and the best. How silly. Why would anyone think that ANY of our currently used strains will be the best ones a year from now? There are already a number of strains that yield more CBD grams per “day of growth”.
As the biggest issue right now is running out all the time, we barely have resources to spend time looking for new strains. We have dedicated special resources to look for these strains of the future and no doubt, what any of us are growing today, will not be grown in a year or two from now.
However, CBD yields are soon to become an old discussion. We are moving onto methods to greatly enhance the Terpene extraction from Cannabis. One of our biggest current concerns is now being able to potentially OVER medicate with terpenes!! Crazy. What should the whole plant terpene dose be?
Then, we will have medicines with the same CBD:THC ratio, but entirely different Terpene profiles. No doubt, these will have different effects for different patients for different conditions.
Then, how about THCV? We are on the verge of obtaining these genetics. We should be able to breed them and develop various THC/CBD/THCV combinations for various diseases. How about a pretty good treatment for obesity? Diabetes? How about CBD + THCV for children with seizure disorders? It will probably make CBD seem secondary.
I am asking for anyone in possession of good genetics to share as many of them with as many people as possible. We are all running out of CBD. Many people can grow who are not growing. This is something we can all contribute to.
Ok, here is the cornball part. I have been watching the news constantly over the past month; many of us have been doing so. It makes me feel sad. I feel angry. I feel impotent. Well, here with every plant that is grown a child can be treated. Why do we have waiting lists for CBD in California and Colorado? This is crazy.
Every grower who is now growing just THC should add a light of CBD rich genetics. It is a good thing to do and it is good business. Any parent can grow for a child and obtain extract made from their own plants, as long as the plant’s genetics are from a professional collective.
