Many of us are still amazed by the amount and intensity of the anti-cannabis feelings in this country. If you leave money, legal and political issues out of the discussion, we mostly recognize that this is irrational fear built upon many years of indoctrination. We were taught to be fearful of this. We were taught it was bad. Now more and more patients and non-patients are realizing that this fear was unwarranted, but we will still live with the aftermath of this for decades to come.
We have an African American President and race issues are no different.
People are terrified of most changes. We are afraid that any upset, misdirection or change in balance of our belief system, will change how feel feel about everything-particularly our mortality.
Our fears of change are really threats to our perceived existence; “If I am wrong about Cannabis, what else am I wrong about??”
We can all benefit by examining our fears more closely.
